Double Page Spread
Amelia LaBelle is the hottest new pop star to keep your eyes on this year- she has currently released her first debut album 'Insanity' and is very soon going on tour with the very own Katy Perry! Yes, that's right!
So how do you feel about releasing your very first album?
If I'm honest, I never thought I'd ever get to this stage in my life. Recording my own album and just having been able to make it this far through the music industry has been insane! Hence the name of my album 'Insanity'. It's been such a long journey but I am so glad I have made it this far. I love doing what I do and I hope to influence all those that look up to me. Some of the songs that are featured in the album come right from the heart. I think I just take so much passion into my music that I feel like I lose myself whilst recording haha and I hope that's how my fans feel too.
Is it true that your song 'Gentle Cry' was written solely for your fans?
Yes, that is true. It conveys a deep powerful message that only those who are in such a position will understand the true beauty of the meaning.
Do you write all of your songs?
Well of course! I'm a singer/songwriter of course I write my own songs. I'm not going to lie it can get very difficult at times and I find myself scribbling bits out and then re writing what I had scribbled out and the whole process takes a while. But usually the lyrics just come naturally, I mean I find myself sitting there in Starbucks enjoying my caramel frappuccino (which is like the best frap ever!) and bam! a song starts to form in my head. I remember I started writing the chorus for 'Love me like I'm yours' on a back of a River Island receipt haha.
How did it feel like performing live at the Capital's Jingle Bell Ball?
Omgsh that was amazing! You have no idea, the crowd cheering, the excitement and the adrenaline rush was just.. I'm lost for words. It was so amazing. I would love to experience that again. It was really nice meeting everyone else who performed and meeting some of my biggest music inspirations. I saw Ariana Grande! You have no idea how much I love her work, meeting her was so good.
What was Ariana like? Lovely - She's a really sweet girl I must admit. She's absolutely gorgeous and has such an amazing voice. She's given me advice on my music career and even said I am welcome to visit her in America any time!
How are things going with you and Jerome Reeds?
It's going okay. People keep saying that it must have been so hard coping with a break up after so long but I mean I'm fine with it. I just wanted to focus on my career more and besides we're still friends. Don't get me wrong I love him to bits but I needed to get my priorities straight if you know what I mean.
You go girl! So how do you feel about going on tour with the one & only Katy Perry!? I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it - I am excited though. It's going to be my first ever tour, eek! I love all her music and I think she is a stunning woman. I'm really looking forward to it, I just hope her fans accept me. It all still feels like a dream to me sometimes, I'm just so happy with life right now - hehe.
What happens after the tour? I'm hoping to start writing songs for my second album which means.. writing trips! I am planning to go to Dubai maybe even Egypt, I love exploring different cultures and meeting new people. I might even borrow some belly dancers to feature in my next music video! haha I'm kidding, although that does give me a good idea.
20 seconds to tell us...
Fave Artist? It has got to be Rihanna.
Fave Song?Omg really? well this is going to be a tough one, I mean there's so many that I like. I can give you my top 3. In no particular order, Rihanna - Take a bow, Demi Lovato - SkyScraper and erm Beyonce - Halo. Gosh that was such a tough question.
First Celebrity Crush? Oh dear, this is so embarrasing. I don't even remember, I think it was Justin Timberlake.
First person you ever saw live? I remember me and my friends went to see Justin Bieber live at the O2 when we were all in year 11. It was such a good night although I think all of our eardrums and throats the next day were so sore from all the screaming. He's actually a really good live singer and it irritates me when he gets criticised I mean that boys worked so hard to get to where he is now. I applaud him.
